The Waikato District Council's Library News for 5 October 2012 discusses the Reading Together® programme. Extracts follow:
Reading Together Programme
Members of the Huntly Team have been working closely with schools in our area to help with a programme called Reading Together.
These [workshops] were an excellent opportunity for staff to showcase all we had to offer. Not only physical items but focusing on the wide range of electronic databases available through the Waikato District Council website.
This has been a great exercise in building community relationships and the library's involvement has been appreciated by those involved. As a result of these sessions we have gained many new members with the potential for more in the future as other schools and families become involved.
